about

“Somewhere” is a shapeshifting song that transports listeners into multiple musical realms, leaving the listener at peace.
Los Angeles raised FINGY always found themselves busy channeling their creativity into some type of musical output. Whether it was attending weekly dance classes, drumming on a plastic box with the band next door, teaching themselves the ukulele, making lofi loops on template based websites, memorizing lyrics to popular songs while writing their own; FINGY found it hard to do anything else but create some type of sound from young age. This passion grew at fifteen once they started producing, making hip-hop beats that slowly transformed into house-esque dance tracks. Since then FINGY has relocated to Chicago, and has played alongside talented local, national, and international artists such as Lewis Ofman, Kryptogram, Pixel Grip, Ondine, Boyish, PROM, Godly The Ruler, Nina Tech, Tay Money, and more. Their song “You” has landed on Chicago’s own Vocalo Radio, as well as “End Of The Day” on Los Angeles’ infamous KCRW Radio, with their new mix to be featured on LP Giobbi’s Femme House Sirius XM Radio station come mid-November.
“Somewhere”, FINGY’s latest release illustrates their music beyond an experiential way, but rather an immersive, showcasing similar soundscapes to the works of SOPHIE, Vegyn, and Sam Gellaitry. Ending with an affirmation, vocals on the track explain how FINGY wants listeners to consume the song, “I know my art is going to make people feel like they belong somewhere.” The idea behind this new single is to provide a sonic space for listeners to travel to when they either want to escape or accentuate their current environment. This bubbly tune adds licks of cockiness to its narrative with explosive synths, chopped and screwed vocals, and an abrasive bassline. Glued together by a silky halftime ballad, “Somewhere” uplifts listeners into a safe musical realm where they can experience energy and tranquility simultaneously. A must listen for any bike ride, car drive, late night, or vibe time.
